The German Cockroaches can grow up to five/height of an inch (⅝”). They are smaller then the American Cockroaches, Their coloration is more of a caramel color or caramel. Unlike the American Cockroaches, the German Cockroaches do not fly. Du to their smaller size, they can hide in small places where other cockroaches can not fit. Because of their preference for moist and warm area. You will mostlikely find them behind the fridge, the dishwasher or the sink. Their smaller size can makes them more difficult to deal with and extermination can take longer than other cockroaches species.
The Oriental Cockroaches are also called ”the water bugs”. With their size of up to one and a quarter inch (1¼”), they are the second biggest common cockroaches. They’re more of a black color cockroach and you will mostlikely find them near woodpiles and in the basement, near the drain. The Oriental Cockroaches do have wings, but like the German Cockroaches, they also don’t fly. These cockroaches are very much attracted to left over food, and even your pet food, left outside.
